About Myself And life with dogs
I am an only child and never had a dog, as my mother didn't like them. We had a budgie and a cat as I got older, but to be fair to my Mother she went with me to pick up our rescue sheltie. On the way home it was sick all over her, after that they became good friends.
I was married, brought up three children
(boys, including a set of twins) and widowed at the age of 47 year old. When the twins were one year old their God Mother bought them a Yorkshire terrier, 14 years later I had to put him to sleep. We missed having a dog around the house so much that the boys persuaded me to get another dog.
What is a home without a dog?
I rang our Vet's to ask if there was a rescue dog that wanted a good home. Shortly after that we adopted our first bitch.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOG

That was back in 1979.
By this time my Father had passed away and my Mother was living with me. The family decided to get another Sheltie we named her "Sheba", she was 18 months old and had pricked ears, which is taboo for a sheltie, but we loved her and that's all that mattered. My late husband thought that a bitch shoud have a least one litter's we managed get here pedigree so when she was 4 ½ ears old we had her mated. She had two Puppies, one dog, one bitch, we sold the dog,

And kept the bitch, we called her Honey, then
We had two dogs in the family.
When Honey was 2 years old we mated her,
She gave us 5 puppies and I sold them all.

I sold a bitch to a nice lady, but sadly the
Sadly she had a stroke. And was not able to have one

I then changed my job I was able to keep one for myself, we called her "Pepe",

Then we now had three Shelties in the family.

Sheba with her only two puppys

From this Sheltie I started my show line and registered my affix with the
Kennel Club - SHELLTHORN

Shellthorn Midnight Lady Dancer

was my first show bitch her pet name was "Pepe" and belonged to my late husband and I.

In February 1991 I was widowed.

My Affix is made up of

SHELTIE and my then Sire name THORNLEY

"SHELLTHORN"

Five years later I met my present husband Ian Martin.
We got married in 1995. This sheltie had her photograph taken on our
Wedding day sitting on my knee; my husband Ian, already had a sheltie
Who sat on his knee? As we got married my two grandchildren took care
Of our dogs and acted as our bridesmaids.

Sadly we lost Pepe in October 2001 - age 13 ½ years old.
She was only ill for three days before she passed away
Peacefully after giving us years of pleasure. She is
Now buried in our Blue Bell Field. At the side of our home.
She had a wonderful showing career which included
Her winning a holiday in Ireland to name but one.
She was the mother of the first

SHETLAND SHEEPDOG that went to Russia -
That Bitch became a Russian Champion."Zaika"
"PEPE"
.....Now that I am retired I can come and go, as I like, as Ian will feed and care
....For my dogs when I am out showing some of them. Ian's hobby is breeding
....And showing birds (the ones with wings!! Poultry), also he enjoys,
....Crown green bowling and is a team Leader
....We have 2 ½ acres of land with our small holding.
....Plenty of room for the Dogs to run around.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS are now a very important part of our family and very
much dominates us all, as the saying goes 'Our house is run for the benefit
of the dogs', and of course Ian……

I am a Committee member North Wales Shetland Sheepdog club and a
member of most of the Sheltie Clubs.
I judge at Open Show level and am on most B Lists. and on A3 list.

I have a number of dogs who have a Stud Book Number
and occasionally have puppies for sale to approved homes only.
All visitors are welcome where they will find that the kettle is always on.
I have always got time for a cuppa a chat…….
